Looking to rent a bike in Ghana
 

I am in Ghana for 4-6 weeks at the end of June and July this summer and I am looking to rent a bike in Accra. Does anybody know of anyone I could rent a bike off?overlander or local business?

Never heard of a bike rent in Ghana, i see some bikers there but doubt for hiring agency, but maybe you contact the KTM-Dealer in Lome (Toni Togo), as he might have some for testing. (lome-Accra is anyhow "close") and they have surely connections to Ghana.

Edit: I'm assuming you're talking about Motorbikes, do you?

There used to be a bike rental place in the Art Center in Accra, but the couple who owned it broke up and the business went kaput. There's a German man with an incipient hostel who claims to rent bikes outside of Kokrobite, kamac ventures Ltd, but I found him not quite ready for prime time a couple of years ago.

I've had pretty good luck just asking around and renting privately. Bike maintenance is seldom done to Euro or North American standards, so beware. Large bikes are rare.
