Kenya news

hey guys

in nairobi now. seems pretty cool here. we came down through lake turkana through to maralal and nanyuki. we travelled on little backroads to nanyuki to avoid mobs and unnofficial road blocks. stay clear of the tribal borders and your doing fine. we got into the kikuyu area as quickly as we could. its pretty stable when your in the heart of the tribal territory.

from nairobi down all should be fine. i wouldnt advise hanging around in kenya too long. ones luck is about to run out as some point. we are camping with a couple that narrowly survived a mob attack. they were flagged down by these unofficial roadblocks. they were stoned, attacked with sticks and machettes. luckily they survived and luckily they were in a car. so stick to the backroads and talk to as many people as you can when travelling through the area. locals know the deal.

dont worry though. you can cross kenya. just keep your wits about you and talk to as many people as you can before moving anywhere. above all dont fret about it. your best information will come at the border and when you enter the country. all other information is pretty useless.

hope it helps,

We are in Nairobi too.
Life is as normal here. Everything is open, everything is available.

Not too many tourists around, but still.

We came in via Lake Turkana from Ethiopia. Absolutely fine there. Road from Marsabit, to Isiolo all the way to Nairobi is safe too.
