Kayes to Dakar in August
 

Hi guys,
I'm planning a trip to Africa next summer. Do you know if the road between Kayes (Mali) and Dakar is ok? Does it usually get flooded in summer?

hello
in 2009 the road was good. you could do it in less than two days at that time. all tarmac. some small parts were under construction but no problem at all. we were there in august and no floodings or whatever. i don´t think it get´s flooded often.
at that time the only bridge at kayes was closed so it took several hours of waiting time for the small ferry but this is all good right know i think.

No problem at all, it's basically all highway. There's a part near Dakar, like from Kaolack to Fatick where it's no good, but there are just potholes, nothing you couldn't handle. It's just slow.
