Hi!

I've just come back from Mali/Burkina. I've made Bamako-Kita-Mahina-Kenieba-Satadougou (Faleme ford)-Kedougou route with pleasure and easy. I possess some GPS waypoints if anybody is interested. Bridges are OK for heavy trucks as they are flat, there are no barriers on both sides. Villigers seems to be used to 4x4, no problem.

Quintin!

I've made Dogonland according your tips heading Bandiagara from Douentza. You were right: the closer to Sanga the villiges are stamped down. We managed to overnight in small village at the beginning of the cliff; was beautiful, we met Chef du Village and we took part in ritual Dogon dancing with drums.

Regards

Hi Danek
Glad you had a good trip and so pleased my tips worked out for you. What was the name of the village you stayed in the Pays Dogon?

Thanks also for the information about the bridges etc. I would really appreciate your GPS co-ordinates if you have a moment as the ones I have aren't up to date. Which route did you take from NKT?
My e-mail is qte at btinternet.com I'd love to hear more about your experiences.

Best wishes Q

Just wondering if anyone had a more up to date experience of this road? The main road from Kayes to Bamako is apparently unsafe due to current conflict.

Debating this road or Koundara to Labe in Guinea. Not hugely experienced and looking to take the less challenging of these two roads!
