Into Mauretania/Senegal CDP/VISA

I'm planning on crossing Morocco into Mauretania, Senegal and possibly Gambia in April/May.

Any "new" info (last year) is appreciated!

Should I get a visa for Mauritania at the border crossing (Possible only on Rosso or also in Diama?) or in Rabat?

Do I need a CDP for Mauritania and/or Senegal?
Is there other ways?

Can I visit Gambia and return to Senegal without a CDP?

I would need to pay fees worth around 250 EUR to adac for the CDP, and if my vehicle is stolen, I would lose the deposit. If the fee would be less at the border, that would be a great option.

Rabat or border visa up to you. I would go border as you'll be there for hours anyway and price is now the same, afaik.

Mori, no CdP.

Senegal don't think so - see elsewhere in this forum.
Laissez passer is the other alternative - search this forum

Don't know but someone else will.

It's unlikely your vehicle will be stolen providing you take the usual precautions. Have a great trip!

My experience, but in 2013,: No CDP needed for these entries.
I had a carnet ATA with multiple entries for Senegal.

I think things have don't change a lot since 2013 (about carnets).

RR.

I still can't get a visa at Diama, I guess? Only Rosso because of biometric equipment?

My plan on "usual precautions" is the built-in H.I.S.S.-system, and an alarm lock, plus an ordinary lock at the rear wheel. Should be enough?

A carnet ATA isn't for the motorbike, is it? Did you enter with a vehicle you did not have a carnet for?

My expirience, CDP needed in Senegal for cars, with a bike you can talk out(I did)... the fact is they dont want no vehicles that are older than 8 years, brought into the country... i think i read recently a post here by someone, whos car got cashed in by customs because he hadn't a CPD, or they give you an escort to Thies or Luga, cost around 250-300 euros... if your car get stolen, you go to the police and customs the sign the CPD and you get your money back... at least in Swiss its like that...

Well, it's from 2001... I'm thinking of just trying it. As in this thread, I'm going for a Laissez Passer if possible. At least I won't need to hassle with a CDP!
