Important info regarding obtaining Sudan/Ethipia visas - Its all changed !
 

You now need your Sudanese visa BEFORE your Ethiopian one if you're heading South.

British and Sudanese Embassies are in Garden city as per Lonely planet map shows.

Ethiopian Embassy has MOVED !! Took us ages to find it. The lonely planet and even their website shows the wrong address. I only have the address in Arabic im afraid. I'll try and get the English name on Monday.

TIP... Get all addresses translated in Arabic to show your taxi driver. Taking a taxi is by FAR the easiest (and very cheap) way to do it as long as you have the addresses (in arabic) to show them.

TIP.. Embassies are shut of Fri/Sat (arabic weekend)

TIP.. Europeans etc can obtain their Egyptian entry visa on the boat if you're taking the Venice - Alex ferry. Very simple and easy. Carnet and plates takes four hours. You end up cast into a crazy, busy city at night time. Have a hotel BOOKED and the address written in Arabic and get a taxi to take you there.

TIP... Bring lots of passport photos and USD $$$$
