Angola visa available in Abuja

A number of people travelling through (including myself) have managed to obtain an Angolan visa in Abuja, Nigeria. I got a double entry, 30 day visa in about 2 hours for 60USD. The embassy staff in Abuja seem quite confused why all of a sudden, 2-5 travellers turn up every day looking for visas. So I don't know how long it will continue (until they run out of stickers, probably), but get them while you can.

The Embassy is open for visas on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 09.30 to 12.00. Se get there for 10.00 and you should get it the same day. Don't expect to be let into the embassy though - I had to do all my pleading from the street, through a grate in the wall.

Angola Visum in Abuja

Hello!

We got the Visa today too. We stay their with 4 other travellers and the Woman from the embassy looked really confused!
Have a look for your money! They take only new US Dollar, but we think they have some old one's to change. One of us have to change a 20 Dollar from 1977.... He's sure he had only new money!!

Good luck for the next travellers!

See you later ! Werner+Claudia

Hi Werner and Claudia,

Where are you now? I will be leaving Yaounde tomorrow morning (16th Feb), as I will have all my visas collected. I will probably catch up with Taco and Felix around Point-Noire/Calabar.

Gabon to Angola is the most fun part of the trip! :-)

Get a visa wherever you can, as a last resort you can get one in Matadi, but that is a bit foolish. Crossing Angola in 5 days is pretty impossible (took us 7 days, no (big) problems at the border when exiting).

The ferry Brazza/Kinshasa is very possible and easier then trying to get trough via Cabinda. I outlined pricing, procedures, waypoints on all of Radio Baobab ยป Practical information

Good luck and enjoy!
