Ghana - Cameroon road in the rainy season
Dear travelers
I'm planning to take my patrol further south fron Accra to Douala in July -august this Year (3 weeks). I know it is not the optimal time, but with the family I am bound to school holidays Could anyone give me recent info on the roads, especially the road to Ekok border (how far is it sealed) and from there to Douala Thx Moyo Kruyt Netherlands |
The road in Nigeria upto the border at Ekok is sealed. From Ekok to Mamfe use to be really bad and close to impassable in the rains (2008) but recent travelers have reported that the road was fixed and ok now. I have not heard of anyone passing there with a truck in the rainy season though.
Maybe someone who has passed there recently will post an update. |
Hi
We will be doing ekok - mamfe road next week. Hoping its all good. :thumbup1: |
Hi
We are in Cameroon now . The road was not bad at all. You will sail through in a Patrol. Some muddy sections but nothing to stop a 4x4, there was one articulated truck stuck and a 2WD car (camry i think) that was too low for a section. Bikes will obviously cruise through no worries either bier |
Ekok-Mamfe with a 2WD
I did the road with my 2WD Mercedes 300D two months ago. A 4wd pulled me through difficult parts, I documented the whole thing in a video I posted on my blog. The part with the Ekok-Mamfe road starts at minute 06:00
