fuel in Mauritanie

Just a heads up gasoline can be hard to find here, top off when you can and don't count on fuel stop having gasoline. From where I got fuel in Morocco to Nouakchott was 520 K, put 23.67 L in 24 L tank when I finally found gas. Then went south east to Aleg, no gas, (lots of diesel), had to go south to Boghe to find gas.
This may be an abnormal situation as there were not the normal black market fuel suppliers that I have found in other places where fuel is in short supply.

I drove down there a week ago and could fill up in Baras (86 k to border) and then again in the north of Noucachot. Comming from the north its the seccond pump station. Driving south from there the next point was 24 km south of border with Senegal.
Cheers,
Adrian.

Hy. We are a Slovak couple travelling to SA by W coast. Good to know how its the situation with petrol in Mauritania. I have another question. Can you tell us is there campings after passing the Mauritanian border towards Noucachout? We heard that the time spend at the border can be up to 6h and we dont want to drive at night so it will be good to have some campings or safe place to sleep along the way. Thanks Fero and Krina from Slovakia
