Ferry from Pointe Noire to Soya (Angola)
 

It's looking like crossing into DRC at Luozi might be ill advised this time of year (rainy season). Also I've read that they are giving overlanders trouble if they aren't residents where the DRC visa was issued (see around Africa with a surfboard blog)

Has anyone heard of this company or had any experiences with them?

I've emailed them and am awaiting a response. Ideally I'd ride this section but if it's too dangerous or if I get turned away a ferry seems like the next best thing.

Also, has anyone tried to do the Cabinda ferry with a single entry visa? I'd read you need double entry. Is it possible to get an exception to this or have it "extended" to multiple entry?

Luckily I have a single entry 30-day Angola visa already which I obtained in Ghana.

The company I mentioned above wasn't able to ship the bike in the end. They suggested I contact commercial liners, which I won't follow up on since I'm going to cross DRC after all, but shipping from pointe noire may still be possible.

They also suggested that taking a boat from Cabinda to Luanda is possible with a single-entry Angola visa (can anyone confirm this? I've also heard they stamp you out when you exit Cabinda, in which case a multiple entry visa would be required).
