Euro or Dollars
What's the best hard currency to carry for West Africa travel, Euros or Dollars? I'm doing the whole west coast
Thx |
Euros without a doubt
The CFA (used in many W.African countries) is pegged to the Euro at 655 for a euro The rest of the region (with the exception of Liberia in particular which prefers dollars) are very much in tune with the euro (easily changed in Ghana too) |
Euros to begin with, but the further south you go (i.e. south of Nigeria) dollars seem to take over as the currency of choice. You can still use euros but the exchange rates are not as favourable.
