Egypt all the way down
 

Hi all,
I want to drive a bit southwards through middle east and then further on to Sudan (maybe more but not sure yet). This is scheduled to take place anywhere between march and september next year (starting date). I've read lots of hints about Expensive car travel in Egypt. Could anyone give more than rumors about this fact? What is involved more than carnet and insurance? how much should I expect to pay for a month to 6 weeks in the country including the ferry fare to Sudan? I'll be driving a 2WD (citroen 2cv van) which has a small engine, and we'll be two of us in it.
What are the alternatives (shipping? from where to where?)
