Driving from senegal to Gamba with bike how long can I stay?

Hi guys, today in Senegal my 48 hrs bike permit was only extended with 7 days. That means I have to get out of Senegal within 7 days. If I drive to Gambia, how long can I stay with my bike there?

Cheers,
Adrian.

Gambia uses the carnet. If you have one, you can stay as long as your visa is valid. You get the visa at the border. 21 days is no problem. Be aware of very thorough searches at the border and make sure you dont have forbidden medicine. Two weeks ago, someone we met was put to jail bcs she had tranquilizers even though she had a prescription. Police and Customs and DEA stops were frequent and unpleasent throughout the country.

I dont have a carnet but there are several reports that you an enter without one. For me it's important to know how long I can stay to see if it's worth the hassle.
Thanks,
Adrian.

An update : I just entered at farafenni and they gave me 12 days. They did not even put the bike in my passport so I could leave The Gambia without it.
Cheers,
Adrian.

I got 15 days for the bike without a carnet. Then I got it extended for 300 Delasi (6 Euro). That was with a personal contact who worked for the drug enforcement police organising everything so it was hassle free. Looked like it could be tricky to find my way around otherwise, though they did say casually at the end that if I needed another 15 days to come back to the same place again. Long story short, you could probably get another 15 days but could be a day of hassle

There is no charge for an extension. If you go to the customs building in Banjul you can get a 28 day extension free of charge.
The man to see is Mr Peter Tourey. Warehouse Shed Number 2. It is up the stairs at the back of the yard on your left.
If you paid you were scammed.
