Driving to and selling a RHD car in Africa

Selling a Car (RHD?) in Africa
I, with a few friends (4 people) are thinking of buying two old cars (RHD) in the UK and sell the car in Africa, we are primarily looking for an adventure but would like to make a profit out of principal to feel like we didn’t “loose”. I am really flexible on just about everything but have initially thought of the “Moroccan Atlantic Route” into Mauritania but from here where would we be best advised to go?
It is not likely to be 2018 until we do this and I have read with interest many comments many comments but know that the rules have changed such as “car must be under x years etc” – we could get a LHD car but we really would prefer a RHD one as it is so easy for us and cheap to buy.
We would prefer to not be restricted by age restrictions and to buy a car older – we are also flexible on the type of vehicle car / estate car / 4x4 / van / minibus etc / diesel / petrol / manual / automatic. Any advice would be appreciated.
Any up to date advice would be greatly appreciated for sure.
Best regards,
Allan

For starters quite a few countries ban the importation of RHD ... so the only way to get around it is to get it into a LHD in a backstreet garage when you arrive in X ... which will probably kill any profit you might make, so best to get a LHD

Senegal is difficult, any vehicle over 8 years old isn't wanted, it also makes it difficult to transit the country.

As for the type of car, definitely diesel but it will also depend on your budget and how far you want to drive it

To put it another way, you want to import a vehicle to a country. There are "issues". Taxes at least, and maybe prohibitions and real problems when you leave without the vehicle that's stamped on your passport.
