Driving another persons vehicle to Senegal

The Varadero I am going to Senegal and back on is owned by my father, and the insurance is also on him.
Will this be a problem when trying to cross into Morocco/Mauritania/Senegal and back? I'm starting in Sweden, going through Europe down.
What papers could I possibly need?

This is a common issue, especially when a company is bringing in a trailer full of client bikes. You'll need the vehicle registration documents and a letter of authorisation from your father for you to be in possession of the vehicle. I would write this in French or English.

I don't know how you stand in Europe with the insurance, are you on his policy? If yes, you will need the green card with you, if no you will need to organise your own insurance.

You'll need to take out additional insurance for Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal.

This letter of authorisation, I guess it has to be officially written, or is it something we could do at home?

The policy says anyone can ride, but my specific name is not on any papers.

As for local insurance in Africa, I know I need it (Morocco uses green card).

Thank you!

If you are lucky enough to have a Swedish registered vehicle, the Swedish green card covers the following countries:
Albania
Russia
Bosnia-Hercegovina
Montenegro
Iran
Tunisia
Israel
Turkey
Makedonia
Ukraine
Morocco
Belarus
Moldavia
and it's free

Yes, that far is no problem, but I'll still need stuff for Mauritania and Senegal. :)

You can do the letter yourself.

That is awesome. If you happen to have an example, I would be happy to see it. Otherwise, I'll manage something. Thank you so far!

Are you getting a Carnet de Passage?

I seem to remember that, with the owner's permission, the Carnet provider will also issue you a letter of authorisation to drive someone else's vehicle.

I am probably getting that, but we've found another solution that was not that costly; I'll buy the motorcycle and write the insurance on me. That way, there will be no troubles!
