DRC and Congo Embassy in Luanda
 

Hi,

Does anyone know the GPS coords. or addresses of the DRC and Congo embassies in Luanda? I've checked the board and other than learning that The Lonely Planet is wrong (shocker), I haven't seen much that's overly helpful...

I'll be heading there in a couple of days and any help would be great, thanks!

I'll be staying at The Yacht Club (is it anything like the one in Khartoum, Sudan?) so if anyone is around, please, drop on by!

The yacht club is a great place to stay because it is cheap and great location. It isn't set up for overlanders the way the yacht club in Khartoum is though, so there isn't a nice grassy spot to pitch a tent. You can just wedge in between the parked boats and stuff on the gravel/dirt lot.

The addresses for the emabssies have indeed changed so they can be a small hassle to find. I have the co-ordinates buried somewhere, I'll take a look for them. In the meantime, I'll fire you a pm with some rough directions which will put you in the right neighborhood.

In regards to banking, there are a couple of places in Luanda where you Canuckian bank card works if your interested.

I ended up only getting my DRC visa since there is a holiday here on Friday (and it took until 4:30pm to get my passport back from the DRC embassy- about 30hrs for the visa) and so I'd have to wait until Monday before I could even apply for any other visa. I figure I'll get the B-Congo one when I cross to Brazzaville from Kinshasa and then wait for the Gabon one in Brazzaville. I'll have an oil change and other things to do by then to keep me busy I'm sure!
