Carnet office address in Windhoek?
 

We have been hit by being unable to travel due to covid restrictions plus health problems. We have a "letter of substitution" allowing us to transfer the truck from the old carnet to the new - but this now needs doing urgently.

We have friends in Windhoek who are willing to try to get this done for us by taking the documents to the customs office in town.
I did this in 2014 but according to reports on iOverlander the office seems to have moved.
I'd really like to give our friends the correct address to go to - to avoid sending them on a wild goose chase around Windhoek.
Has anyone changed carnets in Windhoek in the last 2 years - if so where did you have to go to please?

I visited a Customs office 18 months ago to import my GS. It was just across the railway lines from the station. But to confirm that’s the right place I would suggest you or your friends ask the company Nicholas van Staaden (import agents) if that’s still the right place.

I wouldn’t recommend using van Staaden as they screwed up the subsequent export of my bike and my friend’s bike and we never got our duty back, but they could be relied on to know where to go, at least.
