Carnet for Nigeria? Is it false or new?
A friend just told me that in the Nigerian Embassy in UK are saying that the carnet is mandatory at the border. As far as I know this is only in Senegal and I’m about to leave for the same trip in a couple of weeks. Can somebody please confirm this information?

I took a car through Nigeria from Niger to Cameroon last year and no carnet was reqd. The customs post issued me with a laissez-passé which I then handed in on departure at Banki.

Thanks wilco, seems that the embassy in UK wants the carnet in order to issue visas for this particular trip since it’s a rally with a good amount of cars and will hold any visas for individuals if they suspect they are part of the rally as well. Any idea of where else in Europe can I sort out the Nigeria visa?

Sorry, I got mine in London. Tried all across W Africa without luck. They normally insist you get the visa in your home country but the deeper you go into Africa the more corrupt they seem to be.
