Bike transport to Namibia
 

Anyone sent a bike from Europe to Namibia?

have tried some transport brokers that are happy to get you to fill in website forms but they never got back to me :thumbup1:

At this stage a sense of whether its possible, how long does it take and approx cost will do - from there I can start the rest of the planning

I realise that sending a bike to SA would be easier (and may be the only economical way), but I was going to be time short - so wanted to max out on Namibian dirt rather than schlep to/from SA

got hold of James Cargo who claim that they can fly a bike into Namibia for c.£1700, less if to SA.

so its possible

now to phase two of homework....

we used motofreight to SA, they told us that we could fly to Namibia but some companies or other wouldn't fly dangerous materials, ie. bikes to Namibia so it would be better to fly to SA. they also said that some companies fly to SA and then truck them up to Namibia anyway!

its a nice ride from CapeTown to Namibia anyway and if you're doing Fish River Canyon and all that then it's on the way

Motofreight were brilliant, really friendly, helpful, informative in every step, organised an agent in SA to pick the bike up from airport and hold it for us until we got there. couldn't recommend them enough.
