Ok...me mates in ZA got back to me and said they know of Thomas and are quite happy doing business with him.
They were a little askance about selling your bike to someone in another country and said that they cannot comment on that aspect of doing bike deals inside ZA. And to the poster who said all these replies were without risk...and that he feels I am trying to scare people...selling your bike to someone in another country when you have never even met the bloke certainly carries risk mate. How can you think it does not? I have verified that both Lecap and Thomas are legit, is that not a good thing? Don't try telling me that everything about ZA is safe and legitimate because I know that's often not the case. I would now be happy to deal with Lecap or Thomas myself, that's the best recommendation I am able to give. I can also recommend the guys and girls at www.wilddogtours.co.za It's an adventure bike/touring site and the people there are very helpful. They even have a link for international riders. I would say in this suggested case the risk lies with the buyer, virtual or real, who must send real money first and receives only a few weeks later a motorbike, if he's lucky. Plus the transport costs and the import taxes & clearing costs will be on his account, initially. That's not risk in my opinion, that's paradise ! |
