Wow, that is good news! But on some reason I don't believe embassy personnel will transform from "jerks" to helpful overnight. It has to be something to do with attitude of officials, not only regulations.

We are hanging in Pointe noire. In Libbreville they advice us to come here because the new visa regulations. And we :censored: believed that. We try and try but they are just playing with us... Do anybody know can we take a ship and go to Namia or SA??? Every info is needed :helpsmilie: Road from Mila mila to Pointe noire is awful, slippery mud mud mud.... -Mika- |
I spent some 5 days there to get my documents in and final result was that they refused (they told my passport was full but it had a few empty pages).
You can try to go to Brazzaville if you won't get a visa in Pointe Noire. I had to fly back to Europe to make a new passport and while there got Angolan visa from Paris (where some embassy people have the same attitude than in Pointe Noire). I guess you can go to Brazzaville, just don't believe all the people who keep telling it is impossible. You can go there without your vehicle if you wish, just to make visas (train, plane). |
Well... I cant' see the problem. I misunderstood as if you were refused the visa in Matadi .
OF course they never issue visas in PointNoire . They have never do so . I follow more or less the situation as as far as I can remember , they have never issued any visa at all. Visas are issued in MAtadi (in DRC) , on the spot and with a smile . Its a 5 days transit visa , but nowone seems to care much about that .And least 10 people I can think of , had got a visa there this year . (and you get a visa for DRC in BRazzaville , 30000 XFA ,1 day ). I already got it ! :) . Even you can go from PNoire to BRazza in train (with the vehicles in the train ) , as the track P.Noire ->Brazzaville is -by far- the very worst ever track I have seen in my life . anyway .. let me know your advances... I ll be there in 3-4 weeks.... . What are you driving ? JAvier |

So if not possible to get Angola visa for Cabinda in Congo then one must cross into DRC bypassing Cabinda and try to get Angola visa in Matadi or Kinshasa. |
angola and s.a...
just a random side line..
but did anyone catch wind of Angola and s.a opening their friendly arms to each other in the news recently.... think s.a is almost dropping all restrictions for Angolans to visit here....is this working visa versa...is this true...am i "picking up stompies" (Chinese whispers essentially) as we say here....?? mike |
South Africans not longer need a visa
Hi,
I just contacted a guest lodge in Angola to get a letter of invitation and they emailed back saying that "As of last week South African passport holders no longer require a Angolan Visa-however we do not know when all of this becomes effective" Guess we just wait and see hay.... Though it might help some folks! Mike |

5days transit, single-entry. It takes 12days, connectings, paperwork, yelling, killing etc...etc... I dont advice this place to anybody. We are travelling with motorbike <R1150GSA> my girlfriend is sitting behind me all the time. Now our plan is to go Cabinda, and from there to Luanda via ferry. Maybe our 5days is not enough, but who cares?? <wildwildernes> We are leaving tomorrow, but if you get this message today (tuesday) we are in Hotel Le Coulombe. :welcome: -Mika from Pointe-Noire, Congo- |
