African Rains
 

I knocked this up before our Trans-Africa last year and decided it might be useful for other people. I searched online at the time but couldn't find anything else like it.

It's a very rough map of the African rainy season by month, I found it useful for route planning / timings.

Thinking of a trip to SA via Algeria/Niger etc., by bike starting maybe March and taking 2-3 months, and the rain (mud) is one of my concerns! Especially as I'll be on a GS.

So this is very useful, but can you confirm I'm interpreting it correctly? Guess Month_1 is Jan etc., but do I assume the lighhter colours indicate heaviset rain? It's not obvious to me, sorry!
