Advice on Selling Motorbikes Sub-Saharan Area
Hi everyone I'm a new member and first post
Here's the plan, Feb 2010, 3 or 4 Motorbikes riding one way from the uk to Ghana selling the bikes and flying back. The idea is buy cheap and travel light! I'm just after some info on selling the bikes, would this be possible in Ghana and what sort of return would we get on bikes worth say £500 to £700? I understand The Gambia is good for selling cars is it the same for bikes? Would there be any paperwork involved and fees? If anyone has done this or has any knowledge on what countries in that area this would be possible i look forward to hearing from you Thankyou very much Bikinalong |
Personally I doubt you'd get much return ... the reason being the amount of imported cheap Chinese bikes around. Cars are a different matter ... depend on those .. but I'd be suprised if European etc bikes would get much! Might do well selling them to expats/Lebanese etc via one of the bike shops such as the one in Lome!

Give the bikes to Bansang Hospital for their medical workers.

Thanks for the reply Kira i did suspect that would be the case about selling the bikes but i like Tims idea of giving the bikes to Bansang Hospital that might be something i will have to look into maybe raise some money to help pay for the bikes in the UK
