4x4 hire for 3 months trip SA, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia
 

Hi,

I'm looking for any recommendations for 4x4 hire companies. There is a lot of it and prices vary dramatically. I decided to go with Britz 4x4 hire but they ask me to pay whole amount in advance by allowing them to charge my credit card. I'm bit suspicious about that, because as I'm okay with 25% to be paid in advance the whole (not so small) amount seems to be a little strange. Is that the normal procedure when one want to hire a 4x4 in SA ? Did anyone here have had some experiences with Britz or other 4x4 hire operators in SA ?

I know Bushlore ask for 25% up front & Balance when you collect the car, but to pay 100% upfront is alot of money !!!
If you don't mind me asking how much are they charging you for 4 months as thats a long time !!

I did 6 weeks hire last year and paid 50% up front and balance 2 weeks before start. This was through Avis.
