17" tyres in Rwanda?
 

Still pending our visa situation with the D.R.Congo I expect to be in dire need of new tyres before getting in there. The optimal place to get them would be either Rwanda or Burundi. We heard a lot of good things about Rwanda and how well developed it now is, has anyone ever seen 17" rear tyres there for sale? Or is Nairobi the only option for new tyres in East Africa?
Would be cool if someone had good news for me and my little DR650 :)

I've got a brand new (although stored for the last 18 months..) 17" tyre sitting in Lilongwe.

I'm flying out to Malawi in a couple of days to start a 2 month trip on my DR but I've got a new set of T63's so I won't be needing the Mefo.

If you want it, it's yours.

sorry, didn't get a chance for internet for a while and you are on your own trip now. But Thanks for your reply! However, we will be in Llilongwe sometime around next week. If the tyre is still there and someone could give us access to it - would be awesome. If so, just PM me the details.

I can't give you any recent info on tyre availability in Rwanda, but the Yamaha dealer in Kinshasa DRC had some Bridgestone 17" Trail Wings last year.
