Shipping prescription Insulin RTW.
 
I've been looking at how easily you can get your insulin shipped by DHL to various countries, here's what I received from them:

Restrictions in regards to sending prescription drugs:

Turkey

For personal use: prescription and health report from government hospital required. For commercial

quantity: Sanitary Certificate from shipper & consignee required.

Iran

Can be sent but please attach a copy of the prescription with the package to be sent.

Turkmenistan

I am afraid we do not deliver to Turkmenistan.

Uzbekistan

Permission from Pharmacology Committee and Resolution of Special Laboratory of Customs

Administration are required.

Kazakhstan

Ministry of Health approval required. Consignee requires an Import Licence. Certificate of conformity

required.

Russia

Restrictions vary depending on where in Russia it is being sent.

Canada

No restrictions but please ensure a copy of the prescription is sent with the insulin

USA

Prescription drugs for personal use maybe acceptable under the following conditions: US FDA

unapproved drugs (90 day supply only) may be imported for an individual's personal use with a

serious illness.

Required Info/Documents - Drug name (trade/generic), quantity, dosage, proof of foreign citizenship,

(non-residents) proof of length of stay in the US, letter from a US licensed physician is required for

individuals residing in the US over a 90 day period. The continuing condition the medication is used to

treat.

Mexico

Consignee must provide DHL an import sanitary permit, provided by the Mexican Ministry of Health

(SSA).

Shipper should attach a free sale or sanitary certificate. Duties and taxes could be up to 87.9%. * Can

not be handled as samples / Medical samples. For personal imports, the consignee must provide a

description through a chemical letter.

Guatemala

If for personal use, prescription elaborated in Spanish by a doctor, provided by consignee. Large qtys

req import permit and prior registration in Public Health Dept by consignee.

El Salvador

Consignee will be charged USD25.00 for the import registration at the Ministry of Health.

Nicaragua

No restrictions but please ensure a copy of the prescription is sent with the insulin.

Costa Rica

If the importer is a private person, the shipment may be accompanied by an epicrisis written to the

patient by a Costa Rican doctor. (Epicrisis is the full medical history and justification that the medicine

being imported is not available in Costa Rica). It is mandatory for all Pharmaceutical products to have

a sanitary registration of the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica. If the Customer (cnee) does not bring

the registration form, pharmaceutical products will be destroyed.

Panama

Shipment requires Health Ministry Certificate and Sanitary Registry number upon arrival.

Expect 3-4 days delay for clearance.

Honduras

No restrictions but please ensure a copy of the prescription is sent with the insulin.

Colombia

National institute of food/medicines control certificate.

Ecuador

Consignee could be required to obtain a Sanitary Certificate from the Ecuadorian Government,

consignee is responsible for getting the document.

Peru

For private use needs a prescription made by a Peruvian doctor, endorsement by Health Organism

(DIGEMID), but NOT ALLOWED: B complex capsules, glucosamine, glucosamine and chondroitin,

calcium + vitamin D, 500mg calcium carbonate, folic acid, vitamin E, coenzyme, carotene, carnitidina

capsules, zing 30mg tablets, Omega 3 tablet, sweetening products, sucralose, saccharin, aspartame

powder.

Peru does not offer refrigeration/freezing for shipments, we can only receive samples of 1kg

otherwise shpts could be in danger of decomposition.

Chile


AWB must be consigned to same person as on prescription. National Health requirement (S.N.S.)

must be fulfilled before release.

Must pay additional charge to corresponding control service before clearance. Clearance delay of 2 -4

business days, additional cost between US$15 - US$70 + VAT.

Argentina

Drugs for personal use: original prescription for the consignee and import permit from ANMAT are

required, this clearance can only be done by consignee himself.

Brazil

For drugs that don't exist in BR, original prescription for individuals is reqd from origin & must be

signed by a professional. Brazilian Health Ministry requires physical inspection plus purpose letter of

use that must be provided by cnee only.

Bolivia

Prescription drug; Medical prescription from a doctor must be attached to awb for particular use.

New Zealand


Private shipments require prescription from NZ doctor. Controlled drugs require original license,

expect delays 1-2 days.

Australia

Pharmaceutical products: Subject to import approval from Department of Health. Consignee needs

import permit. Shipper/Recipient to pay quarantine processing fee AUD 47.30 min

South Africa

Section 21, authorisation by Medical Control Council required prior to shipping. Class 4 - 8 medicines

require a MBR 20 in addition to the above mentioned.

Botswana

No restrictions but please ensure a copy of the prescription is sent with the insulin.

Zimbabwe

All medication imported into ZW must be approved by the Medical Control Authority of Zimbabwe.

The MCAZ have the right to deny entry of medication into the country that does not comply with the

requirements laid down.

Prescription is required from a local doctor. A foreign prescription is only acceptable if the person is

travelling in the country and the medicine was issued in that foreign country.

Tanzania

For private individuals importing drugs, a prescription from the hospital is required. Quantity must be

reasonable. Prescriptions from Drug stores are not acceptable.

Uganda

Import Licence required by cnee. Small quantities acceptable for life-saving situations, only with

doctors prescription.

Kenya

Prescription drugs must be accompanied by a prescription from a qualified medical doctor based in

Kenya.

Ethiopia

For personal use, consignee must obtain doctors prescription. All incoming drugs must be acceptable

to the National Drug List.

Djibouti

No restrictions but please ensure a copy of the prescription is sent with the insulin.
