Yamaha help needed el salvador.

Hey folks,
Just putting this out there in case anyone can help.
My 1991 750 super tenere is running badly with carb problems.

A mechanic in guatemala advised me i need 2 carb slide housings(injecter blocks) and the applicable 0rings and clips that are not numbered in the parts fiche. main part number :
3GM-1411E-00-00 BLOCK,JET

Unfortunatley I didnt have time to wait around in guatemala to try source the parts there. Silly in hindsight, but i am where i am :)

Yamaha in San Salvador told me they would have a look to try order parts, but 3 days later there is no news to be had.
If anyone speaks spanish(mine is very bad) and can call yamaha in any part of CA that would be hugely appreciated. My own thought is that Guatemala city might be the place to get them.
As far as Im aware, our (3 of us) plan is to leave El Sal on monday, and try cover honduras in a day/2days. Then Nic for a week or two.

Am willing to wait longer if needed, divert etc etc.... can provide an address in panama to ship parts to..but of course, if anyone can allow me use their address closer to where i am in the next week or so that would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks folks,
James

Hola James, I would have suggested Guatemala and 2nd EL Salvador to get the parts. If youre 100% sure those parts would fix the problem (was the mechanic that checked your bike at the Yamaha dealer in Guatemala?). If yes, you should order the parts and have them shipped to El Salvador express mail.(this would take around a week to get here).
If you want a second opinion on your carbs, a good mechanic here in San Salvador is Alfredo ( cel 70395767 ).
give me a call and we can discuss a plan drinking a cold Pilsener

Hey Mario,
Much appreciated the reply. Im in La Libertad at the moment. I'll have to put a bit of thought into this. I have to bring a friend to yamaha today to collect his bike, they are fixing a dent in his rear wheel for him. I will see if they have any news on the parts. Im not sure if i have time to stay in el sal for another few days, "we" are supposed to be leaving monday-trying to make a certain sailing accross the darien in march as well as enjoy nic and costa and panama.

Is there any chance you think this mechanic could see the bike today?
Apologies for not having a phone number yet.

I just came back and read your reply. Alfredo could take a look at your bike on Monday. Let me know if youre leaving on monday or stay and check with Alfredo.
