Where to find KLR 650 sprockets PERU?
G´day all and apologies if this has been previously posted.
Does anyone know where to buy sprockets for a KLR 650 ´C´ (I am paranoid, so I carry a spare chain). Currently in Ecuador (a days ride from Guayaquil) but assume Lima would be my best bet? Perhaps I need to order these in advance from Kwakka in Quito? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as always. Kind regards |
Evidently the front sprocket is the same as the sprocket for a Honda (don't know which model). I got one from the Kawi / Honda dealer in La Serena, Chile, and was surprised that they are the same (this is like the original, with the rubber backing). In any event, there is a Honda dealer in Lima who should stock it. I was able to get brake pads from them, and those DON'T fit the Honda.
There is also a Kawasaki dealer listed in the Lima telephone book, but I went to both addresses listed and it didn't exist (they were office buildings). |
Kawasaki spare parts in LIMA
Thanks for the info Steve. I had no luck with several bike stores in Lima, but I did manage to find ´CROSLAND TECNICA S.A´ via Kawasaki website (after sending Mike from Casablanca Hostel, Cali - awesome spot for bikers! - on a wild goose chase in Colombia).
Believe it or not, they had parts in stock dealers in Australia wouldn´t carry - exceptional stuff. Not only did I find sprockets, but also picked up a few waterpump spares. So KLR riders needing parts in Lima: CROSLAND TECNICA S.A Av. Argentina 3250. Callao 1 Tel: 613-5272 The guy even spoke english. |
