what to drive?????
hi,
I have a question and maybe someone can help me.... I have only a driver's license for a car and i wanna travel through South America, but does anyone know how much cc of a motorbike i am allowed to drive, i was thinking about a 100cc or 125cc, but don't know if this is okay with only a drivers license for a car. And how about a quad? Do i need a car drivers license for that or do i need more?:helpsmilie: |
Don't think quads are legal and you will be stopped. As far as license go on a small bike you may be able to talk your way out or pay a "fine" (bribe) and be on your way. Many cops and border guards cant read your license and will not wast time asking about it.
Legal to do that? No. Can you get away with it? Yes. Get stopped by someone with nothing better to than enforce the law and you can go in jail and have your bike taken. A week or a year in a south American prison and you may rethink your idea. I know its a pain to get a license but it will make you legal and reduce the amount of stress you will have. Think of this way if I was go to Amsterdam and say drive around a truck with out a license with little skill because well I think it will be fun how will the people there think about me? |
oookay!! well, i really had no idea if a 100cc is allowed in south america without a motorbike license. i love to be in south america for a year, but not in jail!!!:nono: But maybe i have to buy a car i think....i was still in doubt, cuz a quad or motorbike would be more excited:mchappy:, but i also thought a car would be more easier, (weather:stormy:, bags...).....
