Urgent: Good Mechanic In Manaus, Brazil

Hey, anyone out there know a good mechanic in Manaus in Brazil, I'm in a bad way. My bike is pissing oil through a dodgy valve, mechanic in Rio said it was sorted (arsehole), it is not, it's back worse than ever now, it's a big problem for me, I'm losing a litre a day. In a couple of days I load my bike on a boat in Belem and head for Manaus, and I urgently need someone there to sort this out for good for me. :helpsmilie:
There'll be beers in the post for whoever helps me out here...!!!

Got a map of Manaus I hope. You can try Gerry who runs IGUANA tours based in the hotel called HOTEL 10 DE JULIO, 679 Rua 10 de julio. (very close to Opera house).

He likes to make money so beware, but he is a bit of a fixer. Lot of useful contacts.

I only know of diesel mechanics places....good one was called Marco diesel

Av Djalma Baptista 122, Chapada on the road out to Boa Vista on the RHS before you get to Amazonas
Shopping Centre. Has a Huge parts warehouse

Last number I had for them was 6421885....if they cant help they might b ale to point you in te right direction at least.

Good luck.

Cheers Dave, I'll look out for this Gerry lad and see if he knows of any good mechanics for me. Even a temporary fix to get me back to Colombia would do me. I don't have any high hopes of finding parts for a petrol bike in a diesel engine suppliers, but again, they might steer me in the right course.
Your message reads like an eye exam chart man, funny!
Cheers again!

Shit, just saw your post their Dave when I came back from a very stressful afternoon with the Yamaha dealers mechanic (The man seemed to think there was no big problem that there was an extra two liters oil in the bike than needed. Solution he came up with - just change the oil.........), but anyway, his colleagues took over and I think it's in safe? hands. Cheers anyway man!
