Types of Bikes to buy in Chile?
 

Hi HUBB users,
Im a Travel Photographer / Writer and at the beginning of Nov im due to leave the UK and embark upon a 6month motorbike adventure around South America. Santigao, Chile – Ushuai – Buenos Aires – Icuaza Falls then North to Bolivia – Peru – Ecuador – Columbia then who knows. I like to be pretty free and go with the flow.
I have a series of questions which i have decided to split into diff threads. So my first is this...

Im looking to buy a bike in Santiago Chile. Ideally 250cc or at least below 400cc as i would not be comfortable riding a bike with more power than this. I have an ideal budget of upto and around £1500 british pounds. Like everyone else i just want a cheap and reliable bike that will get me round, A bike which i can get repairs for in the countries im traveling through, a bike which will get me over high mountain passes - all be it slowly.

So knowing the above do you have any recommendations of types of bike, cc to go for, rough condition for my price bracket.

Also any good places to buy bikes in santiago would be useful.
