Travel cost

Hi everybody, i'm planning a 4-5 months travel from Colombia to Chile next year and of course i need to figure out how much it will cost.
I will travel with motorbike, sleeping half in tent and half in cheap guesthouses....what you think will be the day cost?
Thanks

There is no real answer to this. It partly depends on the model of bike, but also on your individual bike. as you will be testing a sample of one, quite likely be unrepresentative.

The cost of parts can vary enormously and this can depend where you are when you need the parts.

My last two bike for instance, a Hinkley and an Enfield. The cost per mile of maintenance was £2.25 for the Hinkley and £0.0525 for the Enfield. The Enfield needed a new crankpin and big end fitting but was still many times cheaper to run than the Hinkley.

Make what you will out of this. I think also different riding styles may well produce different results.

It's doable. Stay in cheap hostels. Ride 2 out of every 3 days allowing for rest and mainetance. Count on a full day just to cross a border..

You can do it for $50 USD/day food, fuel, maintenance, and lodging.
