Tierra del Fuego question
ok... has anyone crossed the argentine/chilean border this year('06) and remember if they(specifically the argentine side) check your exit paperwork at this border(the tierra del fuego borders)? in a different thread it was said no, but i'd like some up to date advice...i may attempt this border to circumvent specific fees i may or may not currently owe(at the risk of incriminating myself) on my bike. i'd be interested in both borders, the rio gallegos or the puerto natales fronteras...
thanks |
I went through both crossings in January or February 06 and the documentation is the same as any of the other crossings. You need the paperwork on both the Argentinian and Chilean sides, and they're quite efficient and used to doing it so there's no bluffing your way through. I don't think so anyway.
Good luck. |
Remember to ask for the temporary importation
It happend a few weeks ago that when you reenter argentina(continental) on this check point they didn“t give the biker those papers!
Ask for them.Without them your bike can not leave argentina. Then mess of paperwork in BA!!!! Have a good trip KH |
ok...
guess they're sealing it up air tight these days... thought i might sneak out on a ferry to puerto montt, thats all... hmmm....next strategy.
