Best of luck to everyone stuck in Rio Gallegos. I'm going to head north and hope the fuel situation is better.
It's a shame we're going to miss that beer Manolito. Maybe next time hey?

Duncan.

Go north, it's too cold here :censored: and few days ago it was snowing in Ushuaia (during summer :confused1:).

PS: I owe you a beer bier

It looks like it's solved.

Best of luck to all those now heading north. May the queues be short and the weather pleasant.

There was gas in Estancia Tapi Aike yesterday...

Delbert 4 Mar 2012 14:36

Blimey - I must have been lucky. I went down from Bariloche via Gallegos a few weeks ago and no fuel problems. I am amazed a big place like Rio G was totally our of fuel.

Interested to hear no fuel on Car Austral. My front damper is shot so i decided to take the ferry up to Pt Montt - sounds like a good decision!.

I am heading to Santiago and then trying to plan route north from there - looks a challenge to know which route to take!

good luck to all.

Hey folks, how's the fuel situation down south? I was speaking to a guy yesterday who will be heading to Ushaia in a few days and I said I'd ask around about fuel.

Thanks,
Duncan.

Manolito 11 Mar 2012 19:39

Problem solved

Manolito 14 Mar 2012 00:53

The R40 is closed. Due to heavy rains the section from "Tres Lagos" to "Gobernador Gregores" is closed for a few days.

Thanks to all that posted. I was traveling south 3 weeks ago, saw the posts and averted the problems by taking the ferry from Puerto Montt to Puerto Natales. Then proceeded from Natales>Arenas>ferry>Provenir>San Sebastion>Rio Grande>Ushuaia. No problems all the way.

Now I'll be heading north since it appears that most of the problems seem to be resolved.

Cheers,

Troy

In puerto madryn now. No issue finding gas all the way up.

Manolito 27 Mar 2012 05:20

There are no fuel issues right now:clap:

Yep - I´m in Comodoro Rivadavia at the moment, heading south, all good so far. Wind is - well - windy! But clear sunshine today - and CR seems to have its own little micro climate, as I´m wandering around in a t-shirt!

Manolito - thanks for your post on the other thread. Sounds pretty chilly with you. Any news on the snow in TdF?

I´ll probably stop in Pto San Julián area tomorrow (Monday 9th), and get into Rio Gallegos on Tuesday. If you are around, it would be great to meet up and buy you a beer

Cheers
Pat

Comodoro Rivadavia is always windy. Today we had windsof 80km/h. Just and advice, travel between 6am and 11am, because you are not going to have wind :thumbup1:
In Ushuaia was raining this days, but it stopped raining.

I'll be here on Tuesday

Manolito 8 Oct 2012 19:51

Those that are near Ushuaia, be very careful because it's snowing
