State of Roads from Peru flooding
I'm looking to get more information on which roads have been effected by the flooding in Peru.
I'm in Huaraz right now and want to head back up to Ecuador. I'm especially interested in the 1N route that runs up the coast. Is that passable right now? Should I expect major delays if I take this route? Any information would be sincerely appreciated because I'm in a bit of a bind now. |
A friend of mine just came from Ecuador and is now in Lima with me and told me that there are no big problems anymore. It has some delay as not all the roads are completely cleaned and needed to take a small detour but he could pas with the bike most of the times. He only needed to take a wooden boat with his Honda XR600r in between piura and Chiclayo around 4 days ago. But this part could also be resolved by now. It took him 2,5 days to get from Mancora to Lima.
We're going to head up north to Colombia again from Lima. Along the coast. But this will probably be the end of the week as my friend and me are waiting on parts here in Lima. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk |
Sent you a pm. I'd love to ride up north with you guys if you were interested. Waiting till this weekend is no problem!

Be aware that it's the most boring and ugliest road in Peru. It also used to be the fastest. So considering possible delays, why not go through the jungle? Smaller borders are also much quicker:)
I'm on the road to Tarapoto now, heading to Ecuador and everything is perfectly passable. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk |
