South america mph-kph?

Hi question is in the title really, am I right in thinking all of south america and latin america are KPH not MPH as like North America, so is it only the UK and America that log distances and speed limits in Miles?
Thanks George

Spot on George, you've answered your own question correctly.

Garry from Oz.

I was once given directions in India in furlongs (the guy said that the turn I needed was two of them away). I hadn't a clue, though I nodded sagely (ie foolishly) at the time, feeling I ought to know an Anglo Saxon measure when I hear it. I missed the turn of course.

Moral: in any measurement unit, pride will always keep you lost.

But cheers for confirming.

Even better, if you proceed in mph at the speed limit specified in km/h you will find this to be the reasonable and prudent speed for most of Latin America....the only exceptions being Patagonia and the Atacama which are best tackled WFO or using DOD nominal.
