Solution for DAS (immigration) troubles in Colombia.

Hey guys, I wanted to let everyone traveling from Panama to Cartagena, Colombia know that I have found a shortcut to get your DAS stamp. I would recommend using this shortcut because it is easy and a sure thing.

Once you get your bike off the boat drive to the street and look for a motorcycle taxi (they are cheap, should be 4,000 pesos or $2). Have them take you to Club Nautico. This is a sailboat marina. Ask to speak to David, or you can call him if he is not there at (57) 313-523-0742 or (57) 317 282 0161. Tell David that you just came in and have had trouble getting your DAS stamp. Do not go up to him and say ¨I heard I can get my DAS stamp here for $20.¨ The going rate is $20 and it is well worth it in my opinion because you can go and explore Cartegena for the day and return later in the evening or the next morning and pick up your passport. It beats sitting in the DAS office for 3 hours.

If you use this info maybe you could send me a donation for my South America trip.

hello

if you are arriving by sailboat ,club nautico is where you end up any ways ,then your captain gives the guy your passport and he goes off and gets it stamped ,its illegal to go wandering around in colombia without your passport stamped ,you may end up in the jail ,you relax and drink beer while waiting ,the woman who owns the yaucht club is the witch from hell , then after you get your passport just go down to the port and go to the DIAN office there, WAY EASIER than the main office, they will have your bike papers for colombia with a smile in less than an hour (there is a hot chick in that office, ooooh hoooo )
cheap aussie

info for free and you will find it in plenty of places on this site

Righty-O

You have to bring the bike to DIAN and have them look at the ID number. And get proper DIAN papers, or you will end up having to bribe people on your way through Colombia. Easier to just get the paper.

Round of applause for hot Colombian Women: :clap::clap:

Oh right, I forgot to mention that. The DIAN was a breeze for me. It was just the DAS that I had trouble with, but maybe that is just because I came through Turbo. I imagine some people who enter through Cartegena still have trouble with their DAS stamp though.

In Cartegena, from the boat, the Captain is "legally" responsible for you until your Passport is stamped. He will have an agent or will take the pasportts to get stamped. Until you have your stamp, you just sit on the boat and drink beer.

There was a small problem in Cartegena: there is only ONE stamp. Sometimes it is at the airport, sometimes it is at DAS.
