Selling bike in Peru
 

Hi, I have a moto with peruvian plaques, I want to sell it. Do I need a residency in Peru? The real question is - what do I need to seel it?

Is the official paperwork in your name or are you driving it on a Poder?

You first need to go to the Banco de la Nacion and pay https://cel.migraciones.gob.pe:8081/pesd2/PEFC_Inicio your Permiso Especial para firmar contratos, Tasa 1814.

Then you go online to the above website, enter the info from the ticket you paid in the bank and it will give you your PERMISO (you MUST be IN PERU for this to work as it is tied to your vias status). Print this PERMISO.

Then you must go to the SUNARP office (registry) and with the number of your license plate ask for a FICHA INFORMATIVA on the motorcycle. They will charge you 5 soles.

If the person purchasing the motorcycle is not a Peruvian or full time resident, then THEY ALSO must get the PERMISO.

Then go to a notary to do the COMPRA-VENTA. The new owner needs to understand that it will usually take 2 to 3 weeks before it is actually in his/her name for them to leave Peru with the motorcycle.
