rules to buy and sell in south america

hello

we tried to sell our french car here in colombia

apparently, the rules are quite hard, it is impossible to sell a used car here in colombia. if possible, the import taxes called "nacionalization process" are very expensive with the DIAN (customs department).
so colombia is not the best place to sell.
for a tourist to buy a colombian car (on a tourist visa), i don t know how it works and if possible

our best chance would have been to sell to a foreign tourist (easy to change the papers), diplomat (does not pay tax) or NGO (may not pay tax, not sure) but we did not find

so i was wondering how it would be in other countries of south america

if you want to share your experiences knowledges in this post, it may be helpfull to everyone

happy trails

Somebody told me about a way to register a foreign vehicle in Peru, I want to be clear that I don`t know personally the people who did this transaction.
It goes like this: person A (foreigner just passing by Peru) need to sell his vehic. if he try to do it in a regular way, he will be heavily taxed and charged for different reasons raising the price of the vehic in aprox 90 to 120 % over the value.
The other way is as follow: person A ask for a "loan" (for the amount of the vehic.) using as a collateral the vehic. to person B, stating in a document that if after determined lapse of time person A dont repay the "loan" person B will go to a court (usually the outskirts of Lima where the rules are a litle "loose") to execute the document and normally the judge will rule in favor to person B so he can register the vehicle in the peruvian DMV.
Again I don`t know the people involved in this case, so I can not assure the outcome of these case.

Oufff

Wacool it seem something very tricky that thing, if it's work everybody will go that way.
Did somebody can buy a vehicles (moto, car) and don't registered in the country they pass through ??? But registered in the country the bike or car are coming from ???

An easier way probably, but got to found how it's work.

Isn't it easier in Bolivia where there not many cars with plates anyway?
(We are trying to sell in Colombia or Ecuador)

How does it work on the UK side? Exportation only option?

Hello again, Cruz.

Still on the road one year after your departure from the Mansion?

I think your best bet is still Paraguay. I m in contact here with a dispachante to nationalize my motorcycle.
