RIO to La Paz
 

We are just researching the next leg on our venture from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to La Paz, Bolivia.

Can anyone help with any advice, route/road suggestions or campsights for this leg. We have also heard that roadsigns are limited in Bolivia, are there route maps available? should we just use a compass and head west?

Any help/comment would be so much appreciated.

You could go via Corumba, Santa Cruz to la Paz.
The road was dirt most of the way from Corumba to Santa Cruz but the last time I was there (2006) they were busy constructing a concrete road, so guess there will be little dirt left.
