ride from paraguay to la paz?
 

Hello,
Just wandering what peoples thoughts were about the possibility of riding a bike throuhg paraguay and into bolivia, to La paz. roads, conditions and such.

Going through the Chaco and than via the Andes (not via Santa Cruz) is a beautiful ride, especially the bolivian part. Dont know how the roads are nowadays but there was lots of clay in the first 100 bolivian kms. Unduable during rain. (did the trip over 10 years ago...)

I bicycled from Tarija (southeast Bolivia) over to the Chaco highway. It's all paved and quiet and flat on the Paraguay side (though there are other unpaved options), and on the Bolivia side, flat and unpaved and rough (but being paved in July 2008 when I passed through) between the border and Villamontes, and all unpaved and rough and hilly and beautiful between Villamontes and Tarija.
