Renting a 4x4 in Chile, puerto Montt Region
 

Dear Forum Members

We will be travelling in South America for a year. Most of it will be done hiking. But we also want to rent a 4x4 for around 2 months, possible starting from Puerto Montt or around this region. Can anyone advise a renting company or have you got any other important suggestions for us?

We rented a Nissan 4X4 in San Pedro for roughly $100 US /day.

That's some scary math. Hopefully you find better long term rates.
