A Metzler "Tourance" 150/80 R17 cost about $245 (Santiago is very expensive!), but that's much less than at Williamson Balfour, the BMW dealer. After purchasing the tire, I was escorted to "Bimota", a shop specializing in Italian racing bikes. Marco Bustos immediately took my bike in and had the tire mounted. Great service all around. I recommend both shops! In La Paz, I had purchased a Pirelli MT60 (140/80 R17) for $65 (shipped in from Sucre). The Metzler is a much stronger tire, so I put the Metzler on and will probably carry the Pirelli as a back-up. [This message has been edited by Tim Campion (edited 19 January 2006).] |
