Is Motorentchile reputable?
 

I have been in contact with motorentchile for the past few days about renting a couple of dualsport bikes (Honda Falcon NX 400 and Yamaha XT 600 E) for my buddy and myself for a 40 day tour around Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Paraguay and they seem to want a deposit wired to an account down there which doesn't sit well with me. Has anyone on this forum done business with them with them and if so with a credit card? Any other information on their level of service would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Can't help you with that company, but this company is reputable. They are in BsAs, Argentina. Maybe there is a BMW dealer in Santiago that rents as well.

I did a little searching and found this website in Chile. Their website is nice and they seem to be thorough with paperwork, etc.

Trips & Tours with MotoAdventure

6 of us rented 650 beamers from motoaventura last may...... the bikes where great. Reliable, tuff as ya like and cheap, compared to other places on the planet.... contact sonia..... i strongly recommend them..... we were supplied all the exact paper work for crossing from chile to peru.

I have used them last feb.
 

Motorent Chile is run by a Chilean doctor named Ivan. He runs it out of his house which is a nice part of town. He keeps the bikes in the parking garage. I rented the nx400 and had a postive experience. Granted, I organized my trip while there and did not prepay. I don't think I would feel uncomfortable wiring a small deposit to hold the bike. I have done business with a credit card and didn't have a problem. The only issue you have to think is returning the bike since there is no storefront , you have to coordinate a time to meet up to return the bike. That was a bit of an issue as I had to catch a flight. If you need any further info, feel free to contact me robd19@hotmail.com.

I second that. Motoaventura is reputable and Sonia is awesome (and she makes some really tasty empanadas).

I have been on 3 guided tours in South America with Motoaventura and would recommend using them for a trip (guided or rental only).

Sonia and Roberto are very professional, pay a lot of attention to detail and are thoroughly good chaps!
