info on buying american owned bike in argentina
 

Hello all,
I was hoping to get some quick info from some uber smart travelers here. I may have a chance to buy a bike from an American in Argentina. The bike would be registered to him, from the states. So if he is riding it in Argentina now, and i wanted to buy that bike, what would be the quickest easiest steps involved with title, papers, my ability to ride the bike with in argentina and maybe cross a border?
As a plan B, would it make any more or less sense if i had a friend in argentina, and he bought the bike as he is an argentinian citizen, then re-sold to me (u.s. citizen) when i arrive? easier/harder?
Or plan C, i hear much about dakar motos, do you think they may be able to mediate this sale, and help with paperwork? (i did email them already, and have had no response)
