Hotel with Parking in Lima

Anyone recommend a nice hotel with parking for a bike in Lima?

Hi goo
go to the Miraflores area, most hotel and hostel have bike storage (parking or courtyard). The hotel Ibis has a parking and great rooms but a little pricey.
let me know if your need more info

I am at La Pazn Aparthotel in Miraflores - it is expensive but they did look after my bike whilst I went back to the UK for 2 weeks.

My friend of 50 years own Hotel Antigua de Miraflores, Ave Grau 350. Great place, great staff, and a place to park the bike. Mention me and get 30% off.

In April I was in the hostel INKAWASI in Miraflores, which is very nice with a garage for your moto.

Thanks all! I will investigate these when I return in a few weeks. FWIW I ended up at Hitchhikers Hostel which has nice staff and very easy parking and is cheap.

We spent two weeks in Lima waiting for a part and have changed places a few times, so here are some recommendations!

-Hitchhikers Hostel in Miraflores (calle Francia and Bolognesi); big with good parking and usually a lot of campervans (I guess it's the only place there which can accomodate them). We had to move because they were full.
-Friends Home in Miraflores (calle Gonzalez); this is kind of a homey place with nice (and very talkative) owners. It's not the best hostel in town, but a lot cheaper than other places in Miraflores while on a good location. Just depends on what you're searching for. However, if you're allergic to cats as I am, it's a bit tough (thus moved again).

-Hotel Tambopacaya in San Miguel (http://www.tambopacaya.com/); the owner Scott is very nice and helpful in every way! In a bit more quiet area, so if you want to avoid Miraflores and the center, this is your hotel! However, he said he's trying to sell the place, so send him an email first!

I was in a bind and I had to leave my bike on the street for a couple nights in Miraflores next to a security booth.

When I left I got a flat(rear) and I had to leave my bike at a mechanic and get a scooter ride, tire and all to get it patched. When all was said and done, I was back on the road and one of my front brake calipers came off and started knocking against the rim! Both retaining bolts had been removed! The rear tire had the flat and no one had touched the front while I was around.

Either it happened the night before or at the shop, be careful. Lima can be a dodgy place with horrific driving.

If you want to avoid "dodgy Lima and the "horrific" traffic, then leave the Panamericana, ride the central Andes and stop by my place in Huanuco. I have a personal shop and can get you what you need out of Lima before you arrive as I go there often. Just give me a few weeks lead time and avoid the headache! :eek3:
