Hey guys, if anyone is passing through Cuenca, Ecuador and needs a place to stay.
 

Hey guys, I am studying Spanish in Cuenca, Ecuador for a month and if anyone is passing through and needs a place to stay or wants to meet up for beers/riding (not in that order) let me know. My place is pretty modest, but it is not too bad.

We´ll be passing through Cuenca soonish & a beer sounds great :)

We planned to stay in Cuenca a day or two anyway before heading off to Peru.

btw have you heard any runours re Peru & the police ? I´m searching the HUBB but so far nowt. Last night in Cali 2 guys were telling me that one of them was handcuffed to a police car whilst they went through his luggage, and ther other one had his bike nicked by a copper who jumped on it & rode away ... only to return an hour later having rifled his things. plus minor incursions like the only biker to get a ticket amongst 20 peruvian bikers for parking legally, generally stopped frequently & harrassed.

Hey Scouse and Sara, that sounds great. Cuenca is a really nice city and I think you should like it. I will call my friend tonight so I can get you directions on how to get here. My friend knows the best hostels, motels, and restaurants and I will send you that too. If you want you can always stay here too.

BTW: I have not heard any negative stories about Peru except the ones in the thread you made. I did hear to be careful when crossing the Peruvian/Chilean border though because the 2 countries are in a feud.
