Hey Troy,
I have no experience in this; however just a sugestion - have you tried contacting Chris at MotoCafe in Antigua. He runs bike tours and may have some space or know of someone closer to where you want to be based. Just an idea. I'm in Xela for the next 2 weeks, also studying Spanish if you need any other help.

Nice blog

Hey Darryll,

I will check those suggestions out. It seems you've been traveling for quite a while. I read a bit of your blog and you were talking about Importing your bike into Guatamalla from mexico.

What documentation do you need to import your bike?
also, should i worry about loosing my ID or being relieved of it?

Any help would be nice. I'm still in Vancouver BC myself.....just putting my bike together....hopefully on the road by the end of the month.

happy trails,
Troy

WW,

It's been 5 years since I was in the Atitlan area but it can be pretty cheap for food, accom, courses etc but just make sure you don't get caught up in the party scene and talking english the whole time.

to share a couple of recommendations..

La Iguana Perdida

and

Earth Lodge - Welcome

the second in particular is just outside antigua in an amazing location run by a great amercian / canadian couple.. really a great place. if you contact them in advance i'm sure they'll be able to recommend somewhere for the bike to go.

have a great time, it's an amazing part of the world..

Go to San Pedro. Right next to the Santiago docks is a hostel and bar run by an Englishman named Nick. He might be able to help you out.
