Getting papers up to date on a Colombian bike in Colombia

Ok I've just arrived in Colombia with Colombian registered bike. I'll be flying out of Bogotá in the next week or so and I want to sell it.

My question is, should I ride to a dealer and sell it sin papeles (it doesn't have soat, técnico, or taxes paid at the moment) it should I pay all this and sell it privately.

Is it realistic that a dealer will at least give me a reasonable price like this? It's a 2017 Honda XR150L and I would like 1200 usd in the hand for it. I'm not sure it's worth the hassle of getting all the paperwork done for a few extra dollars and to me, I think that price is cheap compared to what they sell for here.

From what I've read, soat is 500,000 técnico is 130,000 and the taxes should be around 400,000. Plus the time and effort it would take that I'm a little short on.

Just don't get caught on the way without the SOAT and the Técnico.

Don't assume a dealer will buy it, often they just want to sell it on for 3-5% commission, less all incurred expenses. That is unless they get a rock bottom deal.

Good luck...

Yeah I'm hearing the same from locals here aswel. I think I'll get techno and soat in Cali tomorrow and see about the taxes when I get to Bogotá. Thanks
