get bikes from Denver/LA to Peru/Chili
Hello,
I am starting research shipping two dual sport bikes from LA to either Peru/Chili. I am considering Chili becuase I heard the customs there is simpler. I have done a trip all through central america and shipped my bike back up, but have never shipped down there. Any recomendations on shippers and shipping methods? I have heard about getting on cargo boats, what is this about? What about a carnet, have read a bunch of posts that they are not necessary down there. All help is appreciated. Thanks you Steve |
Steve, a carnet is NOT required in the Americas at all.
Re shipping, see the "Shipments by Travellers" link on the left for hundreds of shipments. Unlikely to be a Denver to Chile, (although are certainly plenty of North to South America) but should give you some ideas on who to contact and a ton of first hand shipping experiences. Once you have done it, please post what you learned in the Shipments by Travellers section for everyone else to benefit from. have a great trip! ------------------ Grant Johnson Seek, and ye shall find. ------------------------ One world, Two wheels. www.HorizonsUnlimited.com |
